Module 9: Building sequences around signals

Last updated: July 8, 2026

Example Signal-triggered sequence (14 days)

Fires on high-intent signals (ad click, search for competitor, content engagement). Every touchpoint references the signal topic.

Day

Channel

What to do

Day 1

Email

KPICC email tied to the signal topic. Under 100 words. CTA = call to agreement.

Day 1

Ads

Marketing is already running contact-level ads. If using Salesloft integration, the ad step runs automatically.

Day 2

LinkedIn

Connect request with a personalized note. Or engage with recent content. No pitch.

Day 3

Call

Reference your email. Keep voicemail under 30 seconds. Mention the topic, not the signal.

Day 5

LinkedIn

Research step: like, comment, engage with their posts. Build familiarity.

Day 7

Email

Different angle on the same topic. Share a case study or data point. In-thread reply.

Day 8

Call

Reference the topic. Not the previous call.

Day 10

Email

Offer a specific resource (guide, benchmark, report) related to the signal topic.

Day 12

Call

Mention the resource you sent.

Day 14

Email

Breakup email. Low-pressure. “If [topic] becomes a priority, I’m here.”

Example Warm-up sequence (impressions only, 14 days)

For contacts with 15+ impressions but no click. They know your brand but haven’t engaged yet.

What to do

Day 1

Email

Short, value-driven. Focus on a problem common to their persona. No mention of ads.

Day 3

LinkedIn

Connect or engage with their content.

Day 7

Email

Share an insight or data point relevant to their role.

Day 10

Call

Brief. Mention you reached out via email. Ask if [topic] is on their radar.

Day 14

Email

Offer a resource. Soft CTA.

Real Playbook: How CipherHealth did it

CipherHealth integrated Influ2 with Slack and Salesloft. when a contact clicked an ad, sales got a Slack notification with who engaged and which content. They set up two automation paths:

  • Impressions only (saw but didn't click): Auto-enrolled into Salesloft cadences.

  • Clicks (actively engaged): Routed to SDRs for personalized, manual outreach based on the specific ad content.

The Result: 20% increase in influenced revenue vs. cold outreach.

Real-life sequence example from Katie Penner (10–12 days total)

Sequence structure:

  • 6-8 total touches

  • Multichannel (email + call + LinkedIn)

  • Short, tight window — strike while interest is warm

  • SLA: First touch within 24 hours (same day if possible)

Touch 1 — Email (Day 1)

Subject: Saw you checking out {{!topic}}

Hi {{first_name}},

Noticed you were taking a look at {{!page/content/ad topic}} recently and figured I’d reach out while it was fresh.

Teams usually come to us when {{!problem tied to that content}}, and they’re trying to {{!solution statement}}.

Happy to share what others in {{!industry / role}} are doing if it’s helpful. Worth a quick chat?

{{sender.name}}

Touch 2 — Call + Voicemail (Day 2)

Call opener:

“Hey {{first_name}}, this is {{sender.first_name}} from {{!co}} — calling because it seems like your team is looking into {{!specific topic}}.

Did I catch you at a bad time?”

Touch 3 — LinkedIn (Day 2–3)

• View profile

• Like a recent post if relevant

Touch 4 — Email (Day 4)

Subject: How {{!similar company}} {{!quick value statement}}

{{first_name}},

Following up on my note — one example that may be relevant:

{{!Company / use case}} used {{!co}} to {{!expanded value statement}}.

Result: {{!short outcome — alignment, pipeline clarity, faster follow-up}}.

If you’re exploring {{!problem they engaged with}}, I’m happy to walk through how it works in practice.

{{sender.first_name}}

Touch 5 — Call (Day 6)

Call opener:

“{{first_name}}, {{sender.first_name}} from {{!co}} — I’ve tried connecting since your team has started showing interest in {{!topic}}.

Is this something you’re actively exploring, or should I follow up later?”

If voicemail:

“{{first_name}}, {{sender.first_name}} from {{!co}}. Your team has been looking into {{!topic}} recently and I had a quick thought on how teams are using that to {{!value statement}}.

I’ll send a short note as well. Hope to chat soon!”

Touch 6 — LinkedIn Message (Day 7–8)

{{first_name}} — Curious about how others are using {{!product explainer}} to {{!value prop}}?

Touch 7 — Breakup / Relevance Check (Day 10–12)

Subject: Close the loop?

{{first_name}},

Wanted to check if {{!topic}} is still on your radar?

If now’s not the right time, no worries.

If it is, happy to show how teams use {{!co}} to {{!value prop}}.

Worth me sending over some quick info?
